The Accommodation, Conference and Events department of the University of St Andrews required a WordPress development team to update their website using their in-house guidelines and pattern library.
We provided them with a working prototype for the designs and user experience to assist with the website build. This was done using Marvel, which is a great prototyping tool that we use to help showcase the website before development. The client can click through the designs to see the user journey and iron out any potential issues before development.
The content management system employed was very intuitive and easy to use. We also used shortcodes which Joe created on our request to speed up the content population process but will also benefit us with reduced admin when we need to annually update certain content. I’m sure any user with minimal training would be able to confidently update our new webpages.Fraser

Intuitive content management
The content management uses design components from the universities pattern library. We built a very intuitive content management system for staff to update the website very efficiently and easily using these components.
No theme would have been able to handle any of these requirements so it needed to be bespoke using the WordPress API.
Security, standards & review
The previous development team who were initially commisioned to take on the re-development delivered poor results and provided unsafe code. Once the new website had been built by us the team, it went to their IT department for audit and review to check that the website complied with their standards and pattern library.. The website passed with very little fuss.
